Conductive Ink

Printed electronics such as conductive ink flexible printed circuit solutions open up new dimensions for electric vehicle sensors and heaters.

Thermal management is becoming increasingly important in electric vehicles, as batteries radiate a lot of heat and also need to work at an optimal temperature. There is also high demand to reduce the weight of these vehicles to promote safety and performance.

Printed electronics can replace typical printed circuit boards (PCBs) by printing sensors and conductive traces on a flexible substrate such as PET, and then mounting surface mount devices (SMDs) components such as integrated circuits (ICs).

Conductive ink FPCs use ink that is infused with a conductive material, like graphite or silver, to enable electrical conduction.

Benefits of working with ALT Technologies for Printed Electronic Solutions:

  • This powerful technology is lightweight and can be used in a wide variety of automotive applications, including car heaters, sensors, HMI (human-machine interface) and lighting systems.
  • By using manufacturing and printing techniques such as flexography, screen printing, these flexible solutions can be produced in high volumes and at a lower cost by replacing expensive polyimide.
  • Printed electronics provide cost-effective manufacturing in the development of automotive HMI, touch controls on white home appliances and even steering wheels as they replace the need for wiring multiple buttons. Less assembly time and freedom of design – manufacturing process
