As a manufacturing company, our responsibility is to drive change in environmental stewardship, reflecting corporations’ pivotal role in global efforts to safeguard the planet. On this page, you can find how we continue developing sustainable practices throughout our global operations.
ALT Technologies’ Corporate Carbon Footprint Policy outlines how we adopt methods and processes for responsible resource management and optimising energy efficiency. By setting clear goals and collaborating with suppliers and stakeholders, we want to significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions, fostering a cleaner and greener future for the next generation.
Aiming to release net zero CO2 emissions into the atmosphere by 2030, we will shift our operations’ energy use as much as possible to low-carbon sources. Two of our plants are already 100% supplied by renewable energy, and with solar panel projects in development, we are well on our way to carbon-neutral powered facilities.
We have been working on waste reduction for years as part of our deeply integrated lean management philosophy. With JIT delivery and flexible forecasting, we maintain a no-stock policy.
Our remaining waste streams are carefully monitored, and we work with dedicated companies to dispose of and recycle these materials.
We encourage our suppliers to seek out and implement innovative sustainable practices and together, we are investigating the use of recycled feedstock and base materials.
ALT is working on using more sustainable transportation materials in our global supply chain and we advocate for zero-emission logistics, including carbon-reduction programmes. At the same time, we are working with customers on plastic-free packaging.
In today’s automotive industry, sustainable solutions have become a necessity, not an option. Lightweight and innovative applications mean less material and fuel consumption, enhanced EV range, and reduced wear and tear, contributing to a more sustainable planet.
These lightweight solutions comprise a shift towards flexible foil and textile products that will replace rigid, metal and hard-plastic components. Substituting a moulded plastic part with lightweight foil technology, like our soft ramps, is an intelligent choice for both sustainability and enhanced vehicle weight optimisation. At the same time, our thin die-cut metal tracks offer possibilities for replacing standard EV battery busbars, battery management systems, and wire harnesses throughout the car.
In non-automotive applications, solid metal and etched design elements of durable goods are substituted with metal-look labels. This reduces materials, eliminates unsustainable production processes, and promotes easy assembly. By applying principles of engineering innovation and material science, it is possible to develop solutions that we didn’t think of before and still prioritise longevity and durability while being lightweight and thin. Let’s shape a future where thoughtful design and environmental responsibility go hand in hand and create a world where less truly means more.
