Incoming Goods and Supply Chain – ALT The Netherlands
Introducing Didier
Didier, originally born in France, moved to the Netherlands in his teens. A couple of years later, a friend gave him a tip about this company with offices in France. Appealing as this sounded, Didier directly applied and started working at ALT’s predecessor, Avery Dennison, at age 17.
Today, almost 43 years later, Didier can look back on a prosperous career leading him to different company roles. He saw the company develop to its current form and contributed to its success along the way. For over 12 years, he has been responsible for Incoming Goods and Supply Chain at ALT The Netherlands.
As seasoned as he is, he is a considerable resource for his relatively new-to-ALT colleagues, who can tap into his vast experience.
How did ALT change over the years?
The company has always been innovative; back when I started, we already used state-of-the-art technology, but the products have changed significantly over the years. For example, it moved from blank labels to automotive parts and a ‘zero-defect’ policy with strict specifications matching the applications’ purpose. As a result, our current products help save lives.
What do you like about working at ALT?
It always felt like this was the place. I have developed myself and done many different things. I worked as a machine operator, planner, and calculator, and I have been able to work with the site in France for a long time. It feels like a big family, my “work family”.
What are you most proud of over the years at ALT?
In my current job, I have to make sure everything is available on the production floor so my colleagues can do their work without interruptions. With the constant planning to the smallest detail, I do my best to fulfil this responsibility.
